Bass-Jons Winter Series - Lake Prince - 11/5/2011

Bass-Jons held their first Winter Series tournament of the year at Lake Prince.  The tournament was originally scheduled to go out of Hercules on the Nottoway River, but high water and fast current forced a change of venue.  A cold front came through on Friday, and while skies were mostly clear to partly cloudy throughout the day, the winds were high and the temperatures were cold.  Windy banks were mostly unfishable, as winds blew at 20-30 mph, occasionally gusting to over 30 mph.  Anglers did their best to stay out of the wind to find fish.

Despite the conditions, everyone managed to find at least one fish.  Chris Griffin and Josh Adkisson came away with the win and big fish after catching 4 fish for 6 lbs 6 oz, anchored by a 4 pound big fish.  Second place went to Daniel Griffin with 1 fish for 3 lbs 6 oz.  He finished ahead of Mike Peregrine and Victor Lopez via a tiebreaker, who caught 3 fish for 3 lbs 6 oz.  Rick Burton came in 4th with 2 fish for 2 lbs 4 oz.  The small fish of the tournament went to Mike Peregrine and Victor Lopez at 6 oz.

The next Winter Series event is scheduled for November 19, 2011 on the Blackwater River.  Anglers will launch at Joyner's Bridge.  See the Tournament Intents board for details, including START and END times.
