Bass-Jons is the Hampton Roads Bass Fishing Resource. The areas affected are in and around Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Newport News, Suffolk, Franklin, and on up to Richmond. Since most of our bodies of water have horsepower limits for outboard motors, the site specializes in information related to Jon-boat/9.9 HP bass fishing; hence the name of our organization, "Bass-Jons".
In addition to supporting our club (read about our club below), the Bass-Jons.com website is a portal for bass fishing information in the Hampton Roads area. There is a wealth of bass fishing knowledge within our local fishing community, and this site promotes sharing that information with other anglers in the hopes of making everyone better fishermen/women. Our motto is "Share the Knowledge," and we strive to do that through this website and through our club. There is a vast amount of tips, and general discussion on the site, so whether you are an occasional recreational fisherman or a die-hard tournament angler, you will find plenty of helpful information here. In addition to Bass-Jons, there are several bass fishing clubs and trails in the area that frequent the website and contribute to the knowledge pool, including Rule-9 Bass Club, Three Rivers Bass Club, Single / Double Open Trail, B3B, and others. Go to the "Other Clubs and Trails" page to read about these other clubs and find links to their websites. Our members and visitors write articles, participate in discussion on our message boards, and provide content for our Latest Buzz news feed.
If anyone wishes to write an article or has information, he/she wishes to share on the Bass-Jon's website, please send it to the webmaster at bassjons1@yahoo.com
About Bass-Jons
Bass-Jons is also the name of our club. As the name suggests, many of our events are held on horsepower-limited lakes, as well as rivers that are fishable in a small boat. Bass-Jons provides a bass tournament experience for members with boats as well as those without boats who wish to compete as co-anglers. The club and our events are designed from the ground up to promote fun and learning so that we can all be better bass fishermen/women. Our annual dues are only $25, and each tournament costs $10 per boat, which goes into a "lunker" pot with 100% payback. There is a side pot which for $15 per boat with a payout place for every five boats that put in. We have a full tournament schedule of 16 events as well as a Club Classic at the end of the season. Everyone is welcome: male/female; family members are encouraged as are non-Boaters. We provide a competitive atmosphere with Angler-of-the-Year, Co-Angler-of-the-Year, and Junior Angler-of-the-Year awards passed out each season. If you're interested, please contact us.
